Today, the World Health Organization released a statement saying that the virus MERS-CoV, short for Middle Eastern Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus, has now spread to Italy. Two female patients and a man that had recently returned from Jordan to Italy, have contracted the virus. There is little know about the virus other than it originated in Saudi Arabia.
