After an intense manhunt that lasted over 24 hours and involved hundreds of policeman, suspected Boston Marathon Bomber, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev has been captured. His apprehension bought a sigh of relief to the residents of Boston, Cambridge, Waterford and neighboring cities. The residents had been on shutdown for hours.
19 year old Dzhokhar was hiding in a boat in a driveway in Waterford, very close to the parameter where swat teams were going door to door searching homes.
The owner of the boat had gone outside after the authorities lifted the voluntary shutdown, when he then noticed that there was blood leading up to and on his boat. He slowly approached the boat, lifted the tarp and discovered that there was a crumpled bloodied body inside. He then backed up and called authorities.
When authorities arrived, a gunfight ensued between them and the suspect. Fortunately they were able to capture Dzhokhar alive. He was taken into custody and rushed to the hospital where doctors said that his injuries were serious but not life threatening. Although not confirmed, it is believed that Dzhokha suffered gunshot wounds from the gunfight between him, his brother and policeman the night before. Dzhokhar's older brother 26 year old Tamerlan Tsarnaev had been killed in that shootout with police.
Relieved residents applauded and cheered law enforcement officials for their work in capturing the suspect. Read more www.usatoday.com
