Department Of Homeland Security Orders Federal Agents To Check Validity Of Foreign Student Visas5/4/2013
The Department of Homeland Security issued a memo to U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents instructing them to immediately verify that every foreign student who enters the United States has a valid student visa.
This follows reports that two friends of Boston Marathon bombing suspect, 19 year old Dias Kadyrbayev and 19 year Azamat Tazhayakov, both from Kazakhstan may be in the U.S. on expired visas. The two young men who both attended University of Massachusetts Dartmouth with Tsarnaev, were charged with suspicion of obstruction of justice, in connection with the Boston bombing.
